Bosch Greensource CDi Series SM Model Geothermal Heat Pump Review

Bosch-Greensource-SM-verticalIf you wanted to cut your annual utility bill by 70%, how would you you do it? You could stop using air conditioning and electric heating altogether, but a far more comfortable way to cut up to 70% of your utility costs is by investing in a geothermal heat pump like the Bosch Greensource CDi Series SM. This is an energy efficient and quiet running home heating and air system with plenty of great features.

Pros

  • 10-Year Limited Parts and Labor Warranty ensure you get a full decade of reliable service from this Bosch geothermal heat pump.

  • Typical operating efficiency on the Greensource CDi Series SM ranges from 37.0 EER (part load) to 28.0 EER (full load). Both will ensure superior savings compared to a traditional air conditioning or electrical heating system.

  • Dual-stage scroll compressor, variable-speed ECM, closed-cell insulation, floating base pan, evaporator coil with tin plated hair pins, low and high pressure switch protection, and a whole lot more.

Cons

  • So, why wouldn’t you invest in a geothermal heat pump like the Bosch Greensource CDi Series SM Model? Admittedly, geothermal heat pumps are not the cheapest home heating and cooling systems on the market. You get a premium, but you also pay a premium.

  • Any geothermal heat pump requires plenty of ground space for installation, but access to an substantial water source like an underground well or small pond is even better. If you lack any of these, a geothermal heat pump may not be for you.

Bottom Line

The Bosch Greensource CDi Series SM Model geothermal heat pump is a solid system with a lot going for it. If you’re in the market for a geosource unit, this may be the one you’ve been looking for. On the other hand, there are plenty of competitor geothermal models available at lower prices with comparable operating capability.

Hi, Dejan, I don’t actually know how much they cost, since we don’t sell products directly and cost can vary from distributor to distributor. I can tell you that buying a CDi Series SM will be cheaper without all the accessories than with them.
