ClimateMaster TMW120 Water-to-Water Geothermal Heat Pump Review

Slide-TMW-Residential
ClimateMaster is a prominent force in the geothermal heating industry, and they maintain a diverse product line. The TMW120 water-to-water geothermal heat pump is one of their most sophisticated models, and it is packed with quality components. It’s a compact geothermal heating system with an attractive exterior and, of course, a high efficiency rating.

Pros

  • The TMW120 is ideal for a groundwater installation, and achieves EER 23.10 when operating as part of such a system.

  • Copeland is well known for their excellent scroll compressors, and one such device operates inside the TMW120.

  • The unit also features an insulated compressor compartment, unique double isolation compressor mounting to decrease operating noise, microprocessor controls on every unit, and numerous safety features.

Cons

  • The TMW120 is a great unit, but works best in a ground water or water loop heat pump installation. The unit will perform admirably in a ground loop, but it will not reach the same efficiency standard that it would in one of the aforementioned systems.

Bottom Line

The TMW120 from ClimateMaster is a solid geothermal heat pump system, and, as mentioned previously, is great for a ground water or water loop installation. If you are going to use either of those operating methods, this could be the geothermal heat pump you want to use. If you’re using a horizontal or vertical ground loop, you may want to choose a different model.
